BizTrack (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a business management platform built for Ghanaian small and medium businesses. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use BizTrack at biztrackgh.app.

By signing up for BizTrack, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

2. Who This Policy Covers

This policy applies to:

Merchants — business owners who sign up for a BizTrack account
Customers — individuals who place orders through a merchant's BizTrack storefront

3. Information We Collect

From Merchants

When you create a BizTrack account and use the platform, we collect:

Name and email address
Business name, type, and phone number
Logo and storefront images you upload
Product and service information including prices and stock levels
Order, customer, payment, and expense records you create
MoMo account details you provide for your storefront

From Storefront Customers

When a customer places an order through a merchant's BizTrack storefront, we collect:

Name and phone number
Delivery address (if provided)
MoMo transaction ID
Order details and preferences

Automatically Collected

Browser type and device information
IP address
Pages visited and actions taken within the platform (via PostHog analytics)
Error logs (via Sentry)

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide, operate, and maintain the BizTrack platform
Process and display your orders, customers, and business data
Send transactional emails (password reset, account verification)
Monitor and fix technical errors and bugs
Analyse how the platform is used to improve features
Comply with legal obligations under Ghanaian law

We do not use your data for advertising. BizTrack does not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Who We Share Your Information With

We share data only with the third-party services that power BizTrack:

All third-party providers are bound by their own privacy policies and data protection obligations.

Merchant-to-Customer: When a customer places a storefront order, their name, phone number, and order details are visible to the merchant who owns that storefront. Customers consent to this when submitting an order.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Supabase servers. We implement the following security measures:

Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text
Password reset tokens expire after 30 minutes
All connections use HTTPS encryption
Authentication uses secure HTTP-only cookies
Access to the database requires authentication on every request

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We take reasonable steps to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days upon request, except where we are required to retain it by law.

Order and financial records may be retained for up to 7 years to comply with Ghanaian tax and financial record-keeping requirements.

8. Your Rights

Under the Ghana Data Protection Act 2012, you have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Object to how we process your data

9. Cookies

BizTrack uses cookies for authentication only — to keep you logged in between sessions. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

10. Children's Privacy

BizTrack is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by a notice on the platform. Continued use of BizTrack after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
